Our story

Built by the industry, for the industry — since 2004.

SecurityTrax started as software for security dealers, written by people who knew the work. Two decades later it is the operating platform thousands of providers run their businesses on — leads, scheduling, billing, support, and the monitoring and distribution integrations the industry depends on.

Launching Summer 2026

The new SecurityTrax is here.

In summer 2026, we are launching the new SecurityTrax — a faster, cleaner, modern platform built on the same operational backbone dealers have trusted for two decades. Same focus on the dealer's day, rebuilt for what comes next.

From a dealer's problem to an industry platform

SecurityTrax was founded in 2004 by Jeff Hansen, and grown alongside Travis Hansen, to solve a problem dealers knew all too well: running a security business meant stitching together leads, technician scheduling, customer billing, and monitoring paperwork across systems that never talked to each other.

The answer was a single cloud-based CRM and ERP purpose-built for the trade — one place to track a lead, schedule the install, manage billing and support, and push the right data to the central station without re-keying it. That focus on the dealer's actual day, rather than generic CRM, is what set SecurityTrax apart and still defines the product today.

As the platform grew, it became the connective tissue between dealers and the rest of the industry — building and maintaining deep relationships with the central stations, distributors, and interactive-services providers that dealers rely on every day.

Two decades, in brief

2004

SecurityTrax is founded

Jeff Hansen founds SecurityTrax to give security dealers a single system for the full customer lifecycle. Travis Hansen later joins to help build and grow the platform.

2004–2015

Deep industry relationships

SecurityTrax builds integrations and working relationships across the industry — central stations including ADT, monitoring providers, and distribution partners — becoming a hub dealers operate through rather than just a CRM.

2015

Acquired by Alarm.com

Alarm.com acquires SecurityTrax in 2015 — the same spring Alarm.com filed to go public, debuting on the Nasdaq that June under the ticker ALRM. SecurityTrax becomes part of Alarm.com while continuing to serve dealers across the industry.

2016

Integrations expand

As part of Alarm.com, SecurityTrax broadens its integration network — central stations including ADT, Affiliated Monitoring, AvantGuard, Rapid Response, and United Central Control, plus distribution partners such as ADI — eliminating redundant data entry across the dealer's tools.

2020

A customizable CRM platform

SecurityTrax unveils a customizable CRM platform, letting providers tailor the system to the way their own business runs.
