Release Notes — September 11, 2026
New
- Customer create workflow setup — Workflows under Administration → Catalogs now let you make normally optional fields such as Email or Zip required, and choose which custom fields appear on the Information step and whether they're required. The standard Create Customer page follows your Single Page workflow's settings, and companies using electronic documents can add an eContract step so the contract goes out without leaving the flow.
- User defined fields in reports — The Report Builder can now add your user defined fields as report columns and as filters, with filter controls matched to each field's type, on Customers, Leads, Users, Customer Equipment, Notes/Tickets, and At Risk reports. UDF columns appear in results and CSV exports; for custom SQL reports, contact support to turn this on.
- Attach files to customer emails — When sending an email from a customer's Messages page, click Attach Files to include documents already saved on the customer's record, up to 15 MB total. The Messages list has a new Attachments column showing which files went out with each email.
- Add multiple equipment items at once — When adding equipment to a customer, choose Add multiple items to enter several different items as line items with quantity, zone, and amount, and save them together with a running total.
- Reschedule Reasons — Admins can manage the list of reasons your team picks from when rescheduling a tech appointment, under Administration → Catalogs → Reschedule Reasons. Editing a rescheduled appointment now shows each past reschedule with the old and new times, who initiated it, and the reason.
- Marketing Groups — Admins can add, rename, and deactivate the marketing groups offered on user accounts, under Administration → Catalogs → Marketing Groups. A deactivated group is no longer offered for new selections, and users who already have it keep it.
- Delete notes and tickets — Users with the Notes & Tickets delete permission can now delete a note or ticket from its edit form, and it's removed from the customer's list, the Tickets queue, and My Open Tickets.
Improved
- Smarter Alarm.com device matching — On a customer's Equipment tab, Match & Link All suggests an equipment record for each unlinked Alarm.com device, with a confidence level and the reason for each match, so you can review before linking. Linking also fills in the equipment's Zone and Zone Number from Alarm.com.
- Faster Brinks account setup — When creating a Brinks account for an Alarm.com customer, each zone's Event, Location, and Type are pre-selected from the matching Alarm.com device and marked as suggestions for you to review before saving.
- Simpler ADT monitoring company setup — ADT configuration now asks for your Master Dealer Number, which is checked with ADT when you save; the system user password is gone and Dealer Web login is marked optional. Every monitoring company also gains a Save & Stay button.
- Choose a phone number when sending a text — Text messages from a customer's Messages page now have a Customer Phone Numbers dropdown listing the numbers on file, plus a preview of the message before you send it.
- Email on new customers and leads — The customer and lead create forms now include an Email field, so you don't have to reopen the record afterward to add one.
- Keep customer emails in sync from eDocs — Changing a signer's email on a SecurityTrax eDocs document now offers to update the customer record too, filling in a blank email or asking before replacing an existing one.
- Electronic document template field placement — Dragging a field onto a template page shows a dashed outline of exactly where it will land and how big it will be, and you're asked before losing an unsaved field. Checkbox fields can also be made smaller.
- Invoice emails — The Pay Now and Print buttons in invoice emails are larger and display correctly in Outlook, Gmail, and phone mail apps, and invoice emails now fit narrow screens without sideways scrolling.
- Faster tagging — An Add Tags / Manage Tags button now sits right beside a record's tags, and the tag window opens with a search box ready so you can type to find a tag by name or description.
- Tidier lists — Long notes, descriptions, and subjects on Notes & Tickets, Work Orders, Appointments, and At Risk lists now show a short preview instead of stretching the page. Open the item to read the full text.
- Work Orders filters and tags — The Work Orders list has a new Is assigned filter, and tags can be viewed and applied directly from the edit window on that page.
- Filter equipment by model number — The Equipment catalog in Administration has a new Model Number filter that matches any part of the model.
- Business names on more accounting lists — Commercial accounts now also show their business name on Payments, Credit Memos, Refund Receipts, and the QuickBooks Ledger.
- API Access, reorganized — Administration → SecurityTrax API is now API Access, split into Users With Access, Access Tokens, and API Usage pages, with the API documentation and release notes linked alongside. API access can be granted once the API is enabled for your company, and usage is now labeled as Included Requests (customer and lead intake) and Metered Requests.
- Payroll calculation examples — Administration → Payroll → Calculation Examples now shows, for each pattern, where to set it up, a worked equation, and a plain-language walkthrough.
- Help panel links — The Help panel now has Documentation Home and Learn SecurityTrax links at the top.
Fixed
- Statements — Opening a statement from a customer's Statements page no longer shows an error page.
- Company Calendar — The company calendar no longer fails to load for users without scheduling access at every location, and schedule grid columns no longer shift as the mouse moves.
- Customer and lead filters — Filters on the Customers and Leads lists now update results immediately, and the Last page button no longer goes to an empty page when a filter is active.
- Paid invoices showing as past due — Invoices paid in full no longer count toward a customer's past-due balance because of fractions of a cent left over from tax rounding.
- Electronic document pages — Large electronic document templates can now be previewed and signed, and pages on longer documents no longer show as broken images in the template designer or on the signing page.
- ADT integration screens — A customer's ADT screens no longer error on order status with a single note or hold, brand-new orders, accounts with active holds, or when ADT can't be reached, and ADT details lay out cleanly in popups.
- ADT credit checks — "Approved: Level B (No Invoice)" results now score correctly instead of failing, and a credit check that can't reach ADT shows an error instead of saving an empty report.
- Central station errors on Connections — When a central station can't be reached or has no matching account, the Connections page now says so instead of showing a garbled page, an empty panel, or a raw technical error.
- Alarm.com login details after account creation — After creating an Alarm.com customer or commitment from Connections, the new account's username and password now show reliably.
- Zone numbers above 25 — Customer equipment can again be saved with a Zone Number higher than 25.
- QuickBooks sync — An invoice whose tax rate has no match in QuickBooks is now marked as failed on its own instead of stopping the rest of the sync.
- Purchase orders — Purchase orders created with no shipping or processing method chosen now send to the vendor reliably.
- Payable amounts — Amounts on a customer's payable no longer clear or jump back while you're typing.
- Lead Import — CSV files with column headers like "Phone #" or "Rep & Tech" now import instead of failing, and a failed import now tells you it failed.
- Automated customer emails — Emails set to go out on customer events, such as when a customer is installed, are no longer skipped for customers with no Source.
- Token purchases — Buying tokens under Account Management → Tokens no longer times out early, and a failed purchase now explains why, such as a declined card or no default payment method.
- Secure information form — Entering a birthdate in the wrong format now shows a clear message instead of an error page.
- Settings page headings — Section headings and descriptions on Settings pages display again.
